Regulations for the Award of Fellowship of Movement Disorders Society of India (FMDSI)

  1. Minimum eligibility criteria for application for FMDSI:

  2. Neurologists or neurosurgeons of good standing

    • with more than 15 years of experience as a neurologist/neurosurgeon after the qualifying neurology/neurosurgery examination (DM/DNB/equivalent foreign qualification) and
    • who have been Regular Members of the Movement Disorders Society of India for 10 years or more..
  3. The application for Fellowship should be proposed and seconded by Fellows of MDSI (see Annexure 1 for the list of current Fellows of MDSI)

  4. A maximum of 3 Fellowships will be awarded in a year.

  5. The total number of Fellows of MDSI shall not exceed 5% of the total Regular Members of the MDSI at any time,

  6. 5. If there are no suitable candidates for award of FMDSI in a given year, Fellowship will not be awarded in that year. The non-fulfilled post(s) may be carried forward to the next year on the discretion of the Executive Committee of MDSI

  7. 6. Application for FMDSI will be valid only for the current year.

  • Experience in Movement Disorders
  • Honors/awards/recognitions
  • Research (Funded/Nonfunded)
  • Publications related to Movement Disorders (Indexed/Impact factor/overall-H index)
  • Your contributions to growth of Movement Disorders speciality in India and Internationally
  • Your contributions to MDSI
  • Reasons why you consider yourself eligible for award of MDSI fellowship
  • Vision for Movement disorders in India and for MDSI

Guiding tentative Dates and deadlines

  1. Call for applications : 1st September 2025
  2. Last date for submission of applications : 15th November 2025
  3. Announcement of Results: December 2025
